Shrine World Music Venue is housed in the former headquarters of Harlem's largest Black charity, the Black United Fund Plaza & inspired by the music venue & home of Nigerian artist, Fela Kuti, founder of Afrobeat music. While Shrine is steeped in tradition, it also serves as a gathering place for up-and-coming artists & residents of Harlem, old & new. On any given night, one might be treated to the live sounds of classic big band jazz, roots reggae, old school funk, a folk singer-songwriter or contemporary soul.
