Antoine Dowdell was born in the Bronx in New York City. He started playing the piano at the age of ten. At the age of twelve he attended The Riverdale School of Music. There he studied classical piano for two years. Then he was accepted to the Music And Art High school where he studied music theory and voice. After graduating from Music and Art he studied with a series of private voice and piano teachers.
